Colonial Ballet-Girls from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, Va., performed this ballet at the colonial ball staged at the Willard Hotel by the Virginia society of Washington in honor of George Washington and his mother, Mary. The college ballerinas are (left to right) Phyllda Bien, Ann Cook, Ann Harris, Myran Russell, Peggy Moran, Edith Donnan, Virginia Jarvis, Eleanor Gilman, and Lilias Scott.

HARMLESS ON THE SURFACE but if Axis agents will look more closely they will detect a conspiracy at this social gathering of Mary Washington College girls in Fredericksburg, Va. These summer school students are plotting the purchase of a machine gun and are pushing War Savings Stamp sales at every chance. That’s Nancy Aitcheson of Alexandria, Va. (cen-ter), selling a War Stamp to Priscilla Wilson of Westport, Conn.
